Dinner with friends, and Evelyn's bday

The kiddos ate creamy dreamy mac n cheesy -- so YUMMY - they all loved
it! Evelyn was thrilled with the cake (I spent HOURS I tell you. And
making the cardboard box and wrap so perfect was really quite a
challenge) ...

What a blast. It was mostly an adult dinner party, and I thought,
"Why not" make it her birthday too? And so I did. She didn't know the
difference - these are the kids she hangs out with - and she LOVED
the experience. Mostly so many people singing happy birthday to her.

Evelyn, Ash Wednesday 2012

I should blog about Evelyn, laughing uncontrollably at church last
night. It was somewhat amusing. And she wasn't whiny about it -- it
was that punch drunk, can't stop laughing, can't remember why you
started, glad she had a diaper on kind of laugh. That, and I'm pretty
sure I was nibbling her chin, which egged it on. The glares I got from
members of the congregation were mostly "oh how I wish that was my
daughter" not the "take that child out" thank God! It was contagious.
Infectious. Glorious.

We were seated in the front of the Church, made it before the
procession, sat in a spot for 1 person, she was on my lap the whole
time -- the boys were awesome. It was hilarious. I couldn't stop her.
:) I have to get it on video at some point, because when she starts
she cannot stop laughing. It's usually me making it happen though, so
I'll have to set up a tripod!

Charlotte Checkers!

Well we finally got a chance to see the Hurricanes Farm team! It was
awesome to see Sutter and Staal on the ice - the little brothers - on
the littlle brother team! Great game, though it was a hash in the L
column. Still a lot of fun for the kiddos and their parents.

wildlife! (and a 14 hour old horse!)

I'm not sure what sort of bird of prey this is, but it was in the tree
in our neighbor's yard, looking for lunch at the horse farm. Bunny --
come out come out wherever you are, birdy's hungry!

Speaking of the horse farm ... here's a bunch of pictures of the same
foal - can you get over the size of this guy? Holy canoli! He was
born - last night -- at 11:00. 14 hours old. And I complain about
Evelyn being 11'4" and 23 inches long when she was born! WOWZA!

pretty macro tree, kids at park, Dru being silly, Valentines Day, "harvard"

pretty macro tree, it just looked really pretty to me. The blue was
stunning. what a lovely day - in the 50s in Chicago in February.
Doesn't get much better -- so we brought the kids to a couple of
parks, Dru being silly while we were waiting in the car, Valentines
Day, "harvard - oh how I love babygirl in this sweatshirt!

I'm pretty sure Ernie was sticking out his tongue. I was making a
big, goofy kissy-face. Evelyn just wanted to get back to whatever she

Our neighbor and her new baby, chix wings tips -- being turned into
stock, random cooking night, ev and a truck, chix wings (om nom yys),
Ev and the tower, The juxtaposition of the boys and swords and castle,
